Water supply based water treatment plant
An Affordable community scale water treatment unit for iron and arsenic removal. Technical Details: Colloidal iron removal by adsorption on nanomaterials Mode of Operation: Ground water/Canal water based Design Basis: Design flow rate: 25,000 to 10,00,000 ltr per day No. of hours of operation: 8-10 hours Hourly Flow rate: 5 KL to 100 KL per hour

Community operated
In a World Bank-assisted project, the DDWSS, Govt. of Punjab, has installed nanotechnology-based water treatment plants in Gorey Nangal, Budha Theh, and Chak Kamal Khan in Amritsar district to combat arsenic contamination in groundwater. These plants provide purified water exceeding international standards without electricity, remove iron through adsorption with minimal waste generation, and offer the world’s lowest cost for clean water at just Rs. 23/- per 1000 Liters (0.35 US dollars).

House hold Water Filters
a revolutionary household unit designed to provide clean and safe drinking water. It effectively removes contaminants such as arsenic and iron from water, ensuring that the water is safe for consumption The filter can handle an iron concentration of 4.5 ppm at a flow rate of 300 L/h. With a capacity range of 20-100 liters per day (LPD), it is suitable for various household sizes.

The technology has been widely adopted across India, with over 20,000 filters currently in use. This widespread usage highlights its effectiveness and reliability in providing clean drinking water to countless households.

AMRIT Small Community Units
AMRIT Small Community Units provide a sustainable solution for small communities in need of clean drinking water. These units utilize advanced Indian technology to remove arsenic, iron, and other contaminants, ensuring water safety. With capacities ranging from 100 to 9,000 litres per day, they are adaptable for both domestic and community use. The units are affordable, removing arsenic at less than 2 paise per litre, and operate without electricity, making them environmentally friendly. Easy to maintain with simple weekly brushing, AMRIT units meet WHO and BIS standards, making them ideal for schools, hospitals, and community centers.

AIRP
The Arsenic-cum-Iron Removal Plant (AIRP) is a proven water treatment system designed to remove arsenic and iron from contaminated groundwater. It provides a low-cost, efficient, and sustainable solution to ensure safe drinking water, especially in rural and arsenic-affected regions.

AMRIT SMALL COMMUNITY UNIT
The AMRIT Small Community Unit (SCU) is an innovative, decentralized water purification solution designed for rural and small communities facing arsenic and heavy metal contamination in groundwater. It integrates with existing handpumps, making it accessible for areas without electricity. The SCU uses an indigenous adsorption-based filtration system to remove contaminants while retaining essential minerals. It requires minimal maintenance and operational costs, capable of purifying 1,000–3,000 liters per day. Environmentally friendly and long-lasting, the SCU ensures access to safe drinking water that meets national and WHO standards. Ideal for rural villages, schools, remote areas, and disaster relief situations, it empowers communities to control their water quality
